Responsibilities
- Operate heavy machinery including excavators, loaders, and asphalt compactors
- Perform manual labor in construction and maintenance of public roads, sidewalks, and drainage systems
- Adhere to strict OSHA safety protocols and environmental compliance standards
- Assist in traffic control and site setup for public works projects
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and maintenance checks
- Collaborate with engineering teams to execute precise infrastructure plans
- Document project progress and maintain accurate work records
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of public works or construction experience
- Valid California Class C Driver's License with clean record
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification required
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Experience operating heavy machinery (excavator/loader certification preferred)
- Pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Basic blueprint reading skills
