Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor tasks including excavation, landscaping, and debris removal
- Operate heavy equipment safely (backhoes, dump trucks, etc.)
- Maintain public areas including sidewalks, parks, and drainage systems
- Assist in emergency response during severe weather events
- Conduct routine inspections of city infrastructure
- Follow OSHA safety protocols and environmental regulations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on public improvement projects
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid Florida Driver's License with clean record
- 1+ years construction or maintenance experience preferred
- OSHA 10-hour certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather
- Basic mechanical aptitude and equipment operation skills
- Strong commitment to public service and community values
- Pass background check and pre-employment physical
