Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on streets, sidewalks, and public facilities
- Operate light/heavy machinery including excavators, loaders, and dump trucks
- Assist in stormwater drainage system inspections and repairs
- Participate in snow removal and emergency response operations
- Conduct groundskeeping and landscaping for city properties
- Follow OSHA safety protocols and maintain equipment
- Document daily work activities and submit progress reports
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid North Carolina Class C Driver's License
- Minimum 1 year experience in construction, landscaping, or related field
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of hand/power tools and heavy equipment operation
- Pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
- Ability to obtain CDL within 6 months of hire
- Clean driving record with no major violations
