Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor tasks including excavation, grading, and material handling for infrastructure projects
- Operate and maintain light equipment (e.g., jackhammers, saws, pressure washers) following safety protocols
- Assist in road maintenance, sidewalk repairs, and drainage system improvements
- Execute vegetation control, debris removal, and site cleanup operations
- Participate in emergency response efforts for natural disasters and public safety incidents
- Conduct routine inspections of public works sites and report maintenance needs
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project timelines and quality standards
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent with minimum 1 year construction/public works experience
- Valid Hawaii driver's license with clean driving record
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks in outdoor environments
- Working knowledge of basic hand tools and light equipment operation
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and regulatory compliance
- Ability to work flexible schedules including nights/weekends for emergency response
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred
