Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor for road construction, sidewalk repairs, and drainage system maintenance
- Operate hand/power tools (shovels, jackhammers, saws) safely and efficiently
- Assist in traffic control setup during public works projects
- Load/unload construction materials and debris using proper techniques
- Conduct routine inspections of public infrastructure and report hazards
- Maintain clean and organized job sites following OSHA standards
- Participate in emergency response operations during severe weather events
Qualifications
- Valid New Mexico driver's license with clean record
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds repeatedly and work in extreme weather conditions
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Basic knowledge of construction safety protocols
- Ability to follow verbal/written instructions and work collaboratively
- Pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
- Willingness to obtain required certifications (provided by employer)
