Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain city-provided heavy machinery (excavators, graders, loaders)
- Perform manual labor for road construction, drainage systems, and park maintenance
- Adhere to strict safety protocols and OSHA standards
- Assist in emergency response for public infrastructure incidents
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and preventative maintenance
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on project timelines
- Document work progress and material usage
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid New Mexico driver's license
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Basic mechanical aptitude for equipment operation
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Pass background check and drug screening
- Experience with public works projects preferred
