Responsibilities
- Operate heavy machinery and equipment for infrastructure construction/maintenance
- Perform manual labor including excavation, grading, and asphalt/concrete work
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of public facilities and utilities
- Ensure strict compliance with OSHA and Cal/OSHA safety protocols
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on municipal improvement projects
- Document work activities and maintain accurate project records
- Respond to emergency public works situations as needed
Qualifications
- Valid California Class C Driver's License
- Minimum 2 years heavy equipment operation experience
- OSHA 10/30 certification preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in extreme weather conditions
- Knowledge of municipal infrastructure systems (water, sewer, roads)
- Pass pre-employment physical and background check
- Ability to obtain Class B CDL within 6 months of hire
- Fluency in English and Spanish highly preferred
