Responsibilities
- Operate heavy machinery (excavators, graders, dump trucks) for infrastructure projects
- Perform manual labor including excavation, grading, and material handling
- Conduct road maintenance, repairs, and asphalt/concrete work
- Maintain parks, stormwater systems, and public facilities
- Adhere to OSHA safety protocols and proper equipment operation
- Complete daily equipment inspections and maintenance reports
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams on municipal projects
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid Florida Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- 2+ years construction/public works experience
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Basic mechanical aptitude for equipment troubleshooting
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
