Responsibilities
- Operate heavy machinery (excavators, bulldozers, graders) for construction projects
- Perform manual labor including excavation, grading, and paving
- Install and maintain public infrastructure (sidewalks, drainage systems)
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance
- Adhere to all OSHA safety protocols and city regulations
- Assist in emergency storm response and debris removal
- Complete accurate daily work logs and progress reports
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid Ohio driver's license with clean record
- Minimum 1 year construction or public works experience
- Certification in heavy equipment operation preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physical labor in all weather
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification
- Basic knowledge of blueprints and site plans
- Pass pre-employment physical and background check
