Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor tasks including excavation, grading, and paving for municipal infrastructure projects
- Operate heavy equipment safely (backhoes, dump trucks, trenchers) with proper certification
- Maintain public spaces including parks, drainage systems, and roadways
- Adhere to OSHA safety protocols and environmental compliance standards
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on construction timelines and quality control
- Document project progress and equipment maintenance logs
- Respond to emergency weather-related public works operations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Valid Louisiana driver's license with clean record
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Basic equipment operation experience (backhoe, loader, compactor)
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and teamwork
- Willingness to obtain additional certifications as needed
