Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor tasks including excavation, grading, and landscaping for city infrastructure projects
- Operate and maintain light equipment such as jackhammers, saws, and pressure washers
- Assist in road repairs, sidewalk installations, and storm drain maintenance
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety protocols and environmental regulations
- Participate in emergency response operations during weather-related incidents
- Maintain accurate work logs and report equipment malfunctions
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on public beautification initiatives
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid California Driver's License with clean record
- Minimum 1 year construction or public works experience preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Basic knowledge of hand/power tools and construction materials
- Pass pre-employment physical and background check
