Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor including street repairs, sewer maintenance, and park upkeep
- Operate heavy equipment safely including excavators, dump trucks, and paving machinery
- Assist in emergency storm response and infrastructure damage repairs
- Maintain accurate work logs and safety documentation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on public improvement projects
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and city safety regulations
- Support winter weather operations including snow removal
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Valid Michigan driver's license with clean driving record
- Minimum 1 year construction/public works experience preferred
- Certification in heavy equipment operation a plus
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Strong mechanical aptitude and basic tool proficiency
- Pass pre-employment physical and background check
- Must be a US citizen or authorized to work in the US
