Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor tasks including excavation, grading, and paving operations
- Operate light machinery (e.g., jackhammers, saws) and hand tools safely
- Assist in storm drain maintenance, roadside cleanup, and debris removal
- Support construction projects including traffic control setup and material handling
- Conduct routine inspections of public infrastructure and report hazards
- Maintain equipment and work areas per OSHA safety standards
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on public improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid North Carolina driver's license with clean record
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in outdoor environments
- Basic knowledge of construction tools and safety protocols
- Experience with heavy machinery operation preferred
- Ability to pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
- Strong work ethic and reliability in all weather conditions
- Team player with effective communication skills
