Responsibilities
- Operate heavy machinery (backhoes, dump trucks, graders) for infrastructure projects
- Perform manual labor including excavation, grading, and concrete work
- Maintain public facilities: parks, streets, drainage systems, and traffic signals
- Adhere to OSHA safety protocols and maintain clean, organized job sites
- Assist in emergency response for weather-related public works incidents
- Complete daily equipment inspections and minor maintenance tasks
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on large-scale municipal projects
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Valid Texas Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Minimum 2 years experience in construction or public works
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of blueprints and construction materials
- Pass pre-employment physical and background check
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
