Responsibilities
- Operate heavy machinery (excavators, dump trucks) for construction/maintenance projects
- Perform road repairs, sidewalk installations, and park maintenance duties
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety protocols and city regulations
- Document daily operations using digital reporting systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on infrastructure initiatives
- Respond to emergency weather-related public works tasks
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Valid Michigan Commercial Driver's License (Class A/B)
- 2+ years experience in construction/public works preferred
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in extreme weather conditions
- Basic mechanical aptitude and equipment troubleshooting skills
- Pass background check and drug screening
