Responsibilities
- Perform street maintenance including pothole repairs and striping
- Operate heavy machinery (backhoes, dump trucks) for construction projects
- Manage stormwater drainage systems and erosion control
- Conduct park maintenance and landscaping tasks
- Assist with emergency response during severe weather events
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety protocols
- Maintain accurate work records and equipment logs
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid North Carolina driver's license
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Experience operating heavy equipment (backhoes, excavators)
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work outdoors in all weather
- Basic mechanical knowledge for equipment maintenance
- Ability to pass background check and physical fitness test
