Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on city streets, sidewalks, and public facilities
- Operate heavy machinery including snowplows, graders, and trenching equipment
- Assist in waste management operations including street sweeping and debris removal
- Conduct regular inspections of public infrastructure and report maintenance needs
- Participate in emergency response activities during severe weather events
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on infrastructure improvement projects
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety protocols and city regulations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Valid Michigan Driver's License with clean driving record
- Minimum 2 years experience in construction, maintenance, or related field
- Ability to operate heavy machinery (certification preferred)
- Physical ability to perform strenuous outdoor work in various weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of construction tools and safety procedures
- Must pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
