Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on city roads, sidewalks, and drainage systems
- Operate heavy machinery including backhoes, excavators, and dump trucks
- Assist in park maintenance, landscaping, and recreational facility upkeep
- Respond to weather-related emergencies (snow removal, flood control)
- Conduct safety inspections and maintain proper equipment protocols
- Collaborate with engineering teams on infrastructure improvement projects
- Document work activities and maintain accurate equipment logs
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Kentucky Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Minimum 2 years of heavy equipment operation experience
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Strong commitment to workplace safety protocols
- Basic knowledge of civil construction and maintenance practices
- Must pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
