Responsibilities
- Perform street maintenance, pothole repairs, and sidewalk repairs using hand/power tools
- Operate heavy machinery (backhoes, dump trucks) under supervision
- Assist in snow removal, storm drain clearing, and emergency response operations
- Document field activities using digital reporting tools via remote access
- Collaborate with engineering teams on project planning through virtual meetings
- Conduct routine safety inspections of public works sites
- Manage inventory and equipment tracking through agency portals
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Class B CDL license or ability to obtain within 30 days
- OSHA 10 certification or willingness to complete training
- Experience with heavy equipment operation preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in outdoor conditions
- Proficient with digital reporting tools (mobile apps, cloud platforms)
- Strong communication skills for remote team coordination
- NYC residency required within 6 months of hire
