Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor tasks including excavation, grading, paving, and equipment operation
- Assist in repairing and maintaining city infrastructure (roads, sidewalks, parks)
- Safely operate machinery like dump trucks, loaders, and power tools
- Follow OSHA safety protocols and maintain clean work sites
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on project execution
- Document work activities and report equipment maintenance needs
- Respond to emergency public works situations as required
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid Minnesota driver's license with clean record
- 1+ years construction/public works experience preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physically demanding tasks
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Basic knowledge of hand/power tools and construction materials
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Ability to work in all weather conditions
