Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on city streets, sidewalks, and drainage systems
- Operate heavy machinery including excavators, loaders, and dump trucks safely and efficiently
- Assist in construction projects including road paving, bridge maintenance, and park improvements
- Conduct inspections of public infrastructure to identify hazards or repair needs
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project timelines and quality standards are met
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent
- Adhere to all OSHA safety protocols and environmental regulations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience in construction, landscaping, or public works
- Valid North Carolina Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Proficiency operating heavy equipment and hand/power tools
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety standards
- Effective communication skills for team collaboration and public interaction
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand/walk for extended periods
