Responsibilities
- Perform heavy manual labor including digging, lifting, and carrying construction materials
- Operate light machinery (e.g., jackhammers, saws, compactors) safely and efficiently
- Assist in maintaining public facilities, parks, and transportation infrastructure
- Follow strict safety protocols and OSHA compliance standards
- Collaborate with skilled tradespeople on construction and repair projects
- Report equipment malfunctions and maintenance needs
- Perform routine cleanup and debris removal at work sites
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum 1 year construction or public works experience preferred
- Valid California Driver's License with clean record
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds repeatedly and work in extreme weather
- OSHA 10-hour certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Basic knowledge of hand/power tools and safety procedures
- Pass pre-employment physical and background check
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends as needed
