Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor for construction, repair, and maintenance of public infrastructure including roads, sidewalks, and parks
- Operate light machinery and equipment safely (e.g., jackhammers, saws, dump trucks)
- Assist in stormwater management, erosion control, and environmental remediation projects
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety protocols and city regulations
- Participate in emergency response during severe weather events
- Maintain accurate work logs and complete daily reports
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on large-scale municipal projects
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Wisconsin Driver's License with clean driving record
- Minimum 1 year construction or public works experience preferred
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in all weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of hand/power tools and safety procedures
- Strong teamwork skills and reliability
- Pre-employment physical and drug screen required
