Responsibilities
- Perform general maintenance and repair of public infrastructure including streets, sidewalks, and drainage systems
- Operate light machinery such as jackhammers, saws, and pressure washers under supervision
- Assist in traffic control and flagging operations to ensure public safety during projects
- Load/unload materials and equipment for various municipal projects
- Perform routine inspections and report maintenance needs to supervisors
- Adhere to all OSHA safety protocols and city regulations
- Participate in emergency response activities during severe weather events
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Texas Class C Driver's License
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
- Basic knowledge of hand tools and construction equipment
- Ability to work in extreme weather conditions and irregular hours
- Pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
- Previous public works or construction experience preferred
- Must be able to obtain required certifications within 90 days
