Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain city-owned heavy equipment (excavators, loaders, graders)
- Perform manual labor tasks including digging, paving, and landscape maintenance
- Conduct routine inspections and repairs of public infrastructure
- Adhere to strict safety protocols and OSHA regulations
- Assist in emergency response during natural disasters
- Maintain accurate work logs and equipment records
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on public projects
Qualifications
- Valid California Class C Driver's License (Class A preferred)
- Minimum 1 year experience in construction or public works
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of heavy equipment operation and maintenance
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and compliance
- Pass pre-employment physical and background check
