Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair city streets, sidewalks, alleys, and public rights-of-way.
- Perform snow removal, ice control, and salting operations during winter months.
- Operate heavy machinery such as dump trucks, loaders, and paving equipment safely.
- Assist with construction projects, including concrete pouring and asphalt repair.
- Perform general labor duties including digging, hauling materials, and cleaning work areas.
- Set up and maintain traffic control devices and flagging operations.
- Follow all safety protocols and OSHA regulations to ensure a safe work environment.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Valid Michigan Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is preferred but not always required for entry-level roles.
- Ability to perform physical labor including lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for extended periods.
- Basic knowledge of hand and power tools and construction equipment.
- Willingness to work in all weather conditions and rotating shifts.
- Must pass a post-offer physical examination and background check.
