Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor tasks including excavation, grading, and material handling
- Operate light equipment (e.g., jackhammers, saws, pressure washers)
- Maintain public spaces, parks, and infrastructure per city standards
- Adhere to OSHA safety protocols and environmental regulations
- Complete daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance
- Assist in stormwater management and erosion control projects
- Document work activities and submit progress reports
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid Virginia driver's license
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds repeatedly
- Experience with construction tools or landscaping preferred
- Pass pre-employment physical and background check
- Flexibility to work weekends during emergencies
- Basic math skills for material calculations
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
