Responsibilities
- Operate heavy machinery (excavators, graders, loaders) for construction/maintenance projects
- Perform manual labor including excavation, concrete pouring, asphalt repair, and debris removal
- Conduct routine inspections of roads, bridges, and drainage systems
- Participate in emergency response for weather-related incidents (snow removal, flooding)
- Maintain accurate records of materials, equipment usage, and project progress
- Adhere to OSHA safety standards and city protocols at all times
- Collaborate with engineering teams on infrastructure improvement projects
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent with 1+ years construction/public works experience
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Proficiency with basic hand/power tools and diagnostic equipment
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
