Responsibilities
- Perform hands-on maintenance and repairs of public infrastructure including roads, sidewalks, and parks
- Operate light machinery and equipment safely under supervisor guidance
- Assist in stormwater management and drainage system upkeep
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on project documentation and reporting (remote-friendly)
- Conduct daily site inspections and submit digital progress reports
- Adhere to OSHA safety protocols and maintain clean job sites
- Participate in emergency response during severe weather events
- Complete online training modules and administrative tasks during remote workdays
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Michigan driver's license with clean record
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
- Basic proficiency with digital tools for remote documentation (Google Suite, etc.)
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Experience with hand/power tools and light equipment operation
- Ability to work flexible hours including occasional weekends for emergencies
- Strong teamwork skills with ability to communicate effectively in hybrid environment
