Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor tasks including digging, lifting, and carrying construction materials
- Assist in road repair, sidewalk maintenance, and drainage system improvements
- Operate hand/power tools safely (shovels, saws, jackhammers) under supervision
- Maintain clean, organized work sites and adhere to OSHA safety protocols
- Support emergency response teams during weather-related infrastructure crises
- Collaborate with crew members to complete projects on strict deadlines
- Report hazards and equipment malfunctions to site supervisors
- Participate in public beautification and green space maintenance projects
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Louisiana driver's license with clean record
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds repeatedly in outdoor conditions
- Experience with construction/maintenance tools preferred
- OSHA 10-hour certification or willingness to obtain
- Pass pre-employment physical and background check
- Availability for 12-hour shifts during emergencies
- Basic knowledge of Louisiana DOT safety standards
