Responsibilities
- Perform routine street repairs, drainage maintenance, and sidewalk inspections across Baltimore neighborhoods
- Operate heavy machinery including asphalt compactors, excavators, and street sweepers with OSHA-certified safety protocols
- Respond to weather emergencies including snow removal and storm debris cleanup
- Conduct utility infrastructure inspections and support water/sewer line maintenance crews
- Document work progress using digital reporting systems and maintain equipment logs
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams on infrastructure improvement projects
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required; vocational certification in construction trades preferred
- Valid Maryland Class C driver's license with clean driving record
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification within 90 days of hire
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks in all weather conditions
- Experience with hand/power tools and basic construction equipment operation
- Pass background check and drug screening per municipal hiring standards
- Basic computer skills for digital reporting systems
