Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on city parks, sidewalks, and public facilities
- Operate light machinery (mowers, trimmers, hand tools) safely and efficiently
- Assist in stormwater drainage system inspections and repairs
- Support waste management and recycling initiatives
- Respond to weather-related emergencies (snow removal, flooding)
- Document work activities and maintain equipment logs
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on infrastructure projects
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid North Carolina driver's license with clean record
- 1+ years of experience in landscaping, construction, or maintenance
- Certification in equipment operation preferred (e.g., CDL Class B)
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in outdoor conditions
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification or willingness to obtain
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
