Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on city streets, sidewalks, and drainage systems
- Operate heavy machinery including sweepers, loaders, and jackhammers safely
- Assist in stormwater management and flood control initiatives
- Support park beautification and recreational facility upkeep
- Document work activities and maintain equipment logs
- Adhere to OSHA safety protocols and environmental standards
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams during emergency response
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid California Class C driver's license
- Minimum 1 year experience in public works or construction
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
- Basic knowledge of hand/power tools and equipment operation
- Pass pre-employment background check and drug screening
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and emergencies
