Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor tasks including street repairs, park maintenance, and facility upkeep
- Operate light machinery (e.g., mowers, sweepers, dump trucks) safely and efficiently
- Assist in stormwater drainage system inspections and maintenance
- Support recycling and sanitation operations across Dallas neighborhoods
- Participate in emergency response for weather-related city emergencies
- Maintain accurate work logs and safety documentation
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams on infrastructure projects
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Texas Class C driver's license with clean driving record
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of construction tools and safety protocols
- Valid OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Ability to work rotating shifts including weekends and holidays
- Pass background check and pre-employment physical
- 1+ years of public works or construction experience preferred
