Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance and repairs on roads, sidewalks, and drainage systems
- Operate heavy machinery including excavators, graders, and compactors
- Assist in stormwater management and erosion control projects
- Collaborate with engineering teams on infrastructure improvement plans
- Conduct routine inspections and document work progress
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety standards
- Participate in emergency response for weather-related incidents
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum 2 years construction/public works experience
- Valid North Carolina Commercial Driver's License (Class B)
- Certification in heavy equipment operation preferred
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Basic computer skills for remote administrative tasks
- Strong problem-solving and teamwork abilities
