Responsibilities
- Operate heavy machinery including excavators, backhoes, and dump trucks for infrastructure projects
- Perform manual labor including excavation, grading, and material handling for road maintenance
- Conduct routine inspections of public facilities to identify repair needs
- Adhere to strict safety protocols and OSHA standards on all job sites
- Assist in stormwater management and drainage system maintenance
- Maintain accurate records of work completed and materials used
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Texas Class C driver's license with clean driving record
- Minimum 2 years of construction or public works experience preferred
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Basic mechanical knowledge for equipment troubleshooting
- Ability to work in extreme weather conditions and flexible schedule
