Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor including excavation, grading, and material handling
- Operate light machinery (saws, jackhammers, compactors) with proper safety protocols
- Assist in road repair, sidewalk installation, and drainage system maintenance
- Conduct site cleanup and debris removal following project completion
- Inspect work areas for safety hazards and report issues promptly
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on public infrastructure projects
- Maintain accurate daily work logs and equipment maintenance records
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required
- Minimum 1 year construction/public works experience preferred
- Valid Illinois Driver's License with clean driving record
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of hand tools and power equipment operation
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and team collaboration
- Pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
