Responsibilities
- Perform infrastructure maintenance including road repairs, drainage clearing, and park upkeep
- Operate heavy machinery (excavators, dump trucks, graders) with precision and safety protocols
- Execute manual labor tasks such as digging, lifting materials, and site preparation
- Document project progress via mobile reporting tools from remote locations
- Collaborate with engineers and supervisors using digital communication platforms
- Adhere to OSHA standards and city safety regulations
- Participate in emergency response during severe weather events
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid North Carolina Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Minimum 2 years construction or public works experience
- Proficient in operating heavy equipment (backhoes, loaders, rollers)
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds regularly and work in extreme weather
- Strong problem-solving skills with remote task execution capability
- Basic computer skills for digital reporting systems
