Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor including excavation, grading, and landscape maintenance
- Operate heavy machinery (backhoes, dump trucks, street sweepers) safely and efficiently
- Assist in storm drain cleaning, pothole repairs, and road signage installation
- Conduct routine inspections of public infrastructure and report hazards
- Support recycling programs and environmental compliance initiatives
- Maintain equipment and worksite cleanliness per OSHA standards
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid North Carolina driver's license with clean record
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physically demanding tasks
- Experience with hand/power tools and construction equipment
- Strong commitment to workplace safety protocols
- Basic knowledge of public works infrastructure systems
