Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor for infrastructure maintenance including road repairs, sewer line maintenance, and park upkeep
- Operate light machinery like jackhammers, asphalt cutters, and trenchers under supervision
- Assist in stormwater management and drainage system inspections
- Load/unload construction materials and safely operate hand/power tools
- Follow strict safety protocols and maintain clean job sites
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on public works projects
- Document daily work activities and report maintenance issues
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Valid Tennessee Driver's License with clean record
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
- Basic knowledge of construction tools and safety standards
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Pass pre-employment physical and background check
- Previous public works or construction experience preferred
