Responsibilities
- Operate city-provided heavy machinery and hand tools for construction/maintenance projects
- Perform roadway repairs, drainage system maintenance, and park upkeep
- Assist in traffic control and safety zone setup during public works operations
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and report maintenance needs
- Collaborate with supervisors to prioritize project tasks and timelines
- Adhere to OSHA safety protocols and environmental regulations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid New Jersey driver's license with clean record
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
- Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to operate equipment
- Pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Previous construction or maintenance experience preferred
