Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain city vehicles, machinery, and hand tools for infrastructure projects
- Perform physical labor including excavation, paving, and landscaping duties
- Assist in road maintenance, sidewalk repairs, and storm drain management
- Safely handle hazardous materials following OSHA protocols
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project deadlines
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and report maintenance needs
- Support emergency response during severe weather events
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid Minnesota driver's license with clean record
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform strenuous physical activity
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Experience with heavy machinery operation (e.g., dump trucks, excavators)
- Pass pre-employment physical and background check
- Ability to work in all weather conditions and flexible hours
- Basic knowledge of construction safety standards
