Responsibilities
- Operate heavy machinery (backhoes, dump trucks, graders) for infrastructure projects
- Perform manual labor including excavation, paving, and landscaping tasks
- Conduct routine maintenance on city sidewalks, roads, and drainage systems
- Assist in emergency storm response and debris removal operations
- Adhere to strict OSHA safety protocols at all work sites
- Complete daily equipment inspections and maintenance logs
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on public improvement projects
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Florida Driver's License with clean driving record
- Minimum 1 year experience in construction or public works
- Certification in heavy equipment operation preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Strong commitment to workplace safety standards
- Basic knowledge of traffic control and flagging procedures
- Ability to pass pre-employment physical and background check
