Responsibilities
- Operate heavy machinery including excavators, bulldozers, and asphalt pavers
- Perform manual labor including excavation, grading, and concrete pouring
- Conduct routine maintenance of public parks, sidewalks, and drainage systems
- Assist in emergency response during severe weather events
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety regulations and municipal codes
- Maintain accurate work logs and progress reports
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on infrastructure projects
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum 1 year construction/public works experience preferred
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
- Basic mechanical aptitude and equipment troubleshooting skills
- Clean driving record and background check clearance
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends during emergencies
