Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor including excavation, grading, and landscape maintenance using hand tools and powered equipment
- Operate machinery such as dump trucks, loaders, and trenchers for infrastructure projects
- Assist in repairing roads, sidewalks, drainage systems, and other public facilities
- Implement traffic control measures and work zone safety protocols
- Conduct routine inspections of public works infrastructure and document findings
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to complete projects efficiently
- Maintain equipment through daily inspections and basic maintenance tasks
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational training preferred
- Valid Texas Class C Driver's License with clean driving record
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks in all weather conditions
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days
- Basic knowledge of construction materials, tools, and safety procedures
- Strong teamwork abilities and clear communication skills
- Experience with municipal public works or heavy equipment operation preferred
