Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor tasks including sweeping streets, cleaning storm drains, and maintaining public parks and right-of-ways.
- Assist in road maintenance, pothole repair, and traffic control duties during peak hours.
- Operate light to medium machinery, such as dump trucks, rollers, and sweepers, under the supervision of a certified operator.
- Respond to emergency situations, including snow removal, debris clearing, and flood control measures.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work site while strictly adhering to all OSHA safety regulations.
- Interact professionally with the public and other city personnel to resolve service requests.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record is mandatory.
- Ability to perform heavy physical labor in all weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
- Basic knowledge of construction and maintenance equipment is a plus but not required.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
