Responsibilities
- Perform heavy manual labor including excavation, grading, and material handling for public infrastructure projects
- Operate and maintain heavy machinery (e.g., backhoes, dump trucks) safely and efficiently
- Assist in road repair, sidewalk installation, and sewer maintenance operations
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety protocols and environmental regulations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project deadlines and quality standards
- Conduct routine inspections and report equipment malfunctions or safety hazards
- Maintain clean and organized job sites throughout project phases
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum 2 years of construction/public works labor experience preferred
- Valid Wisconsin driver's license with clean driving record
- OSHA 10-hour certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days)
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks in all weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of hand/power tools and construction materials
- Strong work ethic with punctuality and reliability focus
- Pass pre-employment physical and background check
