Responsibilities
- Perform heavy manual labor including excavation, grading, and material handling for infrastructure projects
- Operate light machinery such as jackhammers, saws, and pneumatic tools under supervision
- Assist in road maintenance, sidewalk repairs, and stormwater management systems
- Safely handle hazardous materials and follow OSHA compliance protocols
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project deadlines and quality standards
- Maintain clean and organized job sites while adhering to safety regulations
- Participate in emergency response for weather-related public works incidents
Qualifications
- Valid Indiana driver's license with clean driving record
- Minimum 1 year construction or public works experience preferred
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks in all weather conditions
- OSHA 10 certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days
- Basic knowledge of hand/power tools and construction materials
- Strong work ethic and commitment to punctuality and reliability
- Pass pre-employment physical and background check
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights/weekends for emergency response
