Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor including excavation, grading, and landscaping for city infrastructure projects
- Operate light machinery (e.g., jackhammers, power tools) and assist with equipment maintenance
- Install, repair, and maintain public facilities like sidewalks, drainage systems, and traffic signs
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety protocols and city regulations
- Assist during emergency response scenarios including storm cleanup and debris removal
- Complete daily work logs and documentation accurately
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on public improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Texas Driver's License with clean driving record
- Minimum 1 year experience in construction, landscaping, or related field
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
- Basic knowledge of hand/power tools and construction materials
- OSHA 10-Hour Construction certification preferred
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions and outdoor environments
