Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor including excavation, grading, and paving operations
- Operate heavy machinery (backhoes, dump trucks) with OSHA-certified training
- Maintain city parks, sidewalks, and drainage systems
- Enforce safety protocols during all construction activities
- Assist in emergency storm response and flood control
- Collaborate with cross-functional crews on public infrastructure projects
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid California Class C driver's license
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in extreme weather
- Experience with heavy equipment operation preferred
- Pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
- Basic knowledge of traffic control procedures
